Easter at Coral Island
Are you planning a trip to Blackpool over the Easter holidays? Whether you’re planning a mini-break with the kids or simply having a fun day out, there’s something for everyone in Blackpool, and if you visit Coral Island, there could be a bonus treat!
Coral Island is Blackpool’s largest free-admission attraction, packed with games, rides, family-friendly restaurants, and this Easter, from Saturday 9 April until Sunday 17 April they are giving away a free Cadbury’s Easter Egg to visitors. All you have to do to claim your free chocolate egg is fill in an online form, which you can find , as well as terms and conditions for the promotion.
Easter is an exciting time for kids, not only marking the end of the winter school term, and the promise of summer holidays just over the horizon, it also is a good reason to indulge in chocolate treats and fun games and activities such as Easter egg hunts, egg and spoon races, and maybe even meeting the Easter bunny!
But there’s more than one chocolate egg-shaped reason to visit Coral Island this Easter, as Captain Jack will make sure that there’s fun and games for the entire family, and for kids of all ages - even the grown-up ones!
Whether you’re exploring the beach, seeking out white-knuckle roller coasters, or strolling along the promenade, you’ll be sure to work up an appetite, and you know the kids will be hungry too if they haven't already gorged on all the chocolatey Easter treats.
Coral Island has numerous family-friendly restaurants, including The Buccaneer Family Bar & Grill, set in the heart of a pirate galleon, where our pirate-themed staff will serve generous portions of reliable family favourites, and there’s the Three Meat Sunday carver for a good traditional Sunday roast.
Peggy’s Family Snack Bar is ideal for hungry families looking for breakfast, lunch or dinner, while there are also several traditional chippys for the essential fish and chips by the sea.
What’s even better is that in many of our restaurants, kids eat for free! All-day, every day, with no vouchers necessary, just look for the Yellow Kids Eat Free stamp in each of Coral Island’s fabulous restaurants. on participating restaurants.
But you didn’t come all the way to the famous Lancashire seaside town just to eat! If there’s one thing that kids of all ages love about visiting Blackpool, it has to be trying your luck in the arcades. If you’re looking for the flashing lights, whistles and sirens, and thrills of arcade games and traditional seaside games, then Coral Island is the place for you.
When it comes to traditional seaside arcade games, everyone loves to play the 2p Pushers, carefully and strategically dropping your two-pence coins on the moving shelf to try and get the prizes on offer to drop. Blackpool is famous for its push-penny machines, and the penny-pushers at Coral Island are loaded with keyring, 100,000 of which are won and find new homes every year!
Another seaside arcade favourite is the crane grabbers, where you can put your skills to the test to try and grab and win a soft toy from your favourite Disney movies, whether that’s Buzz Lightyear or Woody, Winnie the Pooh or Tigger, or even Elsa from Frozen.
Pop your VR goggles on, and get ready to explore a 360º virtual experience, including King Kong on Skull Island, as players drive across the mysterious isle, encountering all manner of creatures and mythical beasts. Players can interact with elements of the game, and defend themselves from attack by the monsters and inhabitants of Skull Island.
Or what about Beat Saber, as you slash at cubes that fly at you with your virtual light sabre to the beat of the music, dancing and slashing your way to a new high score.
There are also numerous VR roller coaster adventures, and flying and driving games that feature the wacky Rabbids. Adults will love the VR experience as much as the kids do!
Coral Island also has numerous ticket games, where you can win tickets by shooting hoops, blasting zombies with water cannons, or knocking down clowns. Why not try that seaside favourite, the Camel Race, as you roll balls in the different holes to get your camel and rider to the finish line first to win big!
And what do tickets mean? Prizes, of course! The more tickets you collect, the bigger and better the prizes you can exchange them for at the Prize Shop.
There are not only kids’ toys on offer, as you can also win PlayStations, TVs, iPads and remote control cars. Have you got the funfair skills to win all the tickets you need for a dream prize?
It wouldn’t be a visit to Blackpool without enjoying the rides, from ride-on cars, pirate ships and dolphins for the younger children to the Pirate Flyer monorail, taking you on a trip high above the arcades and crowds of Coral Island. Can you find and shoot all 133 targets with your Blunderbuss Thunder Gun, or will you be forced to walk Captain Jack’s plank at the end of the ride?
If you’re looking for something a little spooky and scary, then Coral Island’s Ghost Train will take you on a haunted journey through the shipwrecked remains of a sunken galleon, where Captain Jack and his fateful crew guard the rubies they have pirated from the high seas. Keep an eye out for the hidden rubies, and make sure you press your buzzer quick to earn points!
Coral Island prides itself on being family-friendly fun, but there is also a casino and an over-18s area packed with fruit machines and games for the grown-ups, with free food and drink offers daily.
You’ll also find bars and restaurants for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. Captain Jack’s Bar & Grill is famous for its double dipped, extra-wide, pork ribs and stacker-burgers, as well as a range of beverages to quench your thirst.
You’ll find Coral Island tucked between Blackpool’s famous tower and SEA LIFE Blackpool, right in the centre of the seaside town. What’s more, is that Coral Island has the largest number of free toilets along the whole of the Fylde Coast, so pop in to use the facilities and stay for a family adventure.
You can even meet Captain Jack outside his Bar & Grill at 2 pm, 4 pm, and 6 pm, or he can often be found roaming around Coral Island, with his loot bag of chocolate doubloons!
